Four new wines. One farm. Three generations.

Every bottle tells a story. The story of our newest wines begins more than seventy years ago.

Ladis Kristof arrived in Oregon in 1952 as a refugee from war-torn Europe. Raised in what is now Ukraine, he became a scholar of geography and Eastern Europe, speaking seven languages and developing a deep understanding of how geography shapes nations, conflicts, and history.

Those interests were not merely academic. His family resisted the Nazis during World War II, and Ladis himself spent time in a concentration camp before eventually making his way to America.

Yet alongside his fascination with history and world affairs was a simpler passion: he loved the land and he loved wine.

Although he never had the opportunity to plant a vineyard himself, he built a life on the Yamhill farm that remains our family home today. He planted cherries, raised a family, and created the foundation for everything that followed.

Today, as war once again touches the land where he was raised, we find ourselves thinking often of Ladis—his resilience, his love of place, and his belief in building for the future.

More than seventy years later, we are honored to release the inaugural vintage of Ladis, a wine named in his memory and inspired by his enduring love of the land.

Our new wines are delightful:

2025 Rosé

Just in time for summer, our Rosé is bright, dry, and refreshing, with notes of Meyer lemon, white peach, jasmine, pear, citrus, and raspberry. It is the bottle we reach for on warm evenings as the sun drops behind the Coast Range.

2024 Ladis Pinot Noir

Our inaugural limited-edition Pinot Noir, Ladis comes from a particularly expressive parcel within our finest five acres of Pinot Noir. Elegant, layered, and beautifully structured, it is produced in very limited quantities and intended for life's most meaningful celebrations.

2024 Estate Pinot Noir

If Ladis is a close-up portrait, our Estate Pinot Noir is the landscape. It captures the broader character of our vineyard, with vibrant red and blue fruits, floral notes, spice, mocha, and a long, graceful finish.

2024 Chardonnay

Fresh, precise, and beautifully balanced, our newest Chardonnay offers notes of wet river stones, yellow plum, citrus, and brioche—a style that reflects the mineral character of our site and the growing reputation of Oregon Chardonnay.

These wines are the latest chapter in a story that began on this farm more than seventy years ago. We are delighted to share them with you.

One More Chance to Visit the Farm This June!

Our June Pinot & Perspective gatherings have filled more quickly than we expected, so we've opened one additional opportunity to join us on the farm:

Sunday, June 28 • 1:00 p.m.

June is one of our favorite times of year here. The vineyard is lush and green, the orchard is alive with activity, and wildlife seems to be everywhere—from bear cubs to elk.

Join Nick and Sheryl for a tasting of Kristof Farms wines and ciders, followed by a walk through the vineyard and orchard. And because this is Pinot & Perspective, the conversation often ranges beyond wine and farming into current events, global affairs, and whatever questions guests bring to the table.

If you'd like to meet Baby Bear, Big Bear, or perhaps some particularly broad-minded elk, we'd love to see you.

The cost is $50 per person, but that amount is fully applicable toward a wine club membership, cider club membership, or the purchase of a case or more of wine or cider.

And while we only hold tastings/tours on the farm about a half-dozen times a year, remember that you’re always welcome at the tasting room of the Carlton Winemakers Studio, of which we’re a part. It’s open daily in Carlton, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and once there you can also sample other great local wines.
