Announcing Kristof Wine!

Kristof Wine is Here!

We’re thrilled to share with you the unveiling of our maiden wines! This is the result of a long project, beginning when we pulled out our cherry orchard in 2018 and began planting wine grape vines and cider apple trees. While we’ve been producing cider for several years, wine takes longer.

We have been tasting the wines as they mature throughout their journey, along with various experts, and we’re all thrilled by the results. We wanted to produce some of the best cider and wine in America, and the awards our ciders have accumulated suggest we’ve accomplished that goal for the cider. The wine is likewise superb and reflects the Oregon style that people here are justifiably proud of. That’s a credit to our neighbor and friend, winemaker Adam Campbell of Elk Cove Winery.

From the latest harvest, here are some of the grapes that are going into Kristof Wine

We will ship our maiden wines in early March, but we’ve been asked about Kristof Wine as holiday gifts. We are taking orders now in advance so that people can give a holiday gift of Kristof Wine club membership. At a fairly grim time in world affairs, we hope a wine club membership will lift spirits for a loved one now and encourage getting together with friends later on.

At initial launch, Kristof Wine will be available exclusively to wine club members. Members will receive a shipment each spring and each fall, either a half-case of six bottles each time or a case of 12 bottles each time.

Members of the Kristof Wine Club can choose

1) all Pinot Noir;

2) an assortment of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Rosé;

3) or all Rosé

—All as either a case or a half-case. Those with case memberships will enjoy a 10% discount on all products site-wide, plus 50% shipping off club shipments. Those with half-case memberships will enjoy a 5% discount on all products site-wide, plus 20% shipping off club shipments. Your credit card won’t actually be charged until the wine is shipped.

Alongside the shipments, Kristof Wine club members will also be invited to a virtual Conversation Salon with the Kristofs to talk about wine, vineyard farming, world and national affairs, or whatever you want to chat about. We just had our first Cider Club salon with Cider Club members across the country (plus one in Netherlands!) and it was fascinating and fun.

2022 Pinot Noir, $60

This rich Pinot Noir the first vintage from Kristof Farms, just dazzles. It conjures dark fruit such as plum and blackberry with notes of pepper, violets and exotic spices, along with a hint of nutmeg. It has a delightful freshness on the palate. This production was selectively made from the finest 5 acres of vines in our Pinot Noir vineyard and aged in top quality French oak barrels for 10 months. It is ready to enjoy now but will also continue to mature over time in your wine cellar.

2022 Chardonnay, $45

This is a classic Oregon-style Chardonnay, wonderfully balanced and textured. Aged in larger 500-liter French oak barrels for 10 months, it has notes of apricots and peach, with a hint of candied ginger. If you want to understand why many enthusiasts are raving about Oregon Chardonnays and more Willamette Valley acreage is being planted in Chardonnay vines, just try this delectable wine.

2023 Rosé, $30

This is a fruit forward Rosé made from our Pinot Noir grapes picked on the early side to create freshness to balance the richness. It is exuberant with notes of cherry, strawberry and watermelon, along with a hint of mango and citrus. This is a wine that boasts of its youthfulness; it adds fun to any event.
